Janet Lindow, PhD, founded RBHI to expand access to mental health support for young people, regardless of where they live. With a PhD from MIT, postdoctoral training in infectious diseases, and more than a decade of experience in mental health innovation, she has worked at Yale, the University of Kansas Medical Center, and internationally in Botswana and Brazil. Inspired by personal experiences with mental illness and suicide in her family, Janet created RBHI to help ensure that every young person can access the care and support they need. She lives in Montana, where she enjoys exploring the mountains with her dog.

Dr. Straub continues to advise organizations nationwide, publish on school safety issues, and provide training and consultation on behavioral threat assessment.

After earning her degree from Montana State University and a Master’s in Social Work from Portland State University, Acacia worked with children, adolescents, adults, and families in acute and residential psychiatric settings before opening her private practice. She is passionate about reducing stigma, improving access to care, and helping people navigate barriers to wellness. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time in nature and caring for plants.
